Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence Association, or in short PREMIA, is a professional non-profit society registered in Singapore and an International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPRmember society since 2004PREMIA aims to provide a forum for scientists and engineers in Singapore who are interested in pattern recognition and machine intelligence research.  Specifically, the topics of research interest include but not limited to computer vision, image processing, speech analysis, robotics, multimedia, document analysis, character recognition, knowledge engineering, fractal analysis and intelligent control, statistical techniques, neural networks, evolutionary programming, fuzzy logic, machine learning, and hardware implementation.  Furthermore, PREMIA is affiliated with IAPR so as to provide a link for our local researchers to the international community. In this website you will find useful information on membership, awards, courses and activities conducted every year. We expect the information on this website to be of particular interest to students, researchers, lecturers, engineers and practitioners in the community. However, anyone interested to know more about the world of artificial intelligence is likely to find this information useful.

PREMIA Annual General Meeting 2017

PREMIA Short Courses 2017

[Update on May 7 , 2017] The short course will be held as originally scheduled. But the lecture room will be E4-04-02 at NUS Kent Ridge Campus.

PREMIA has received some urgent requests to attend the short course as scheduled May 22-25, 2017. Therefore, we will continue to observe - please do the registration but NOT payment for the course if you are interested to attend. Please watch out this page for updates. Please check the announcements . 

[Update on April 20, 2017] We will have PREMIA's next short course series on the fundamentals and applications covering the following areas: computer vision, image processing, machine learning in general, transfer learning and deep learning. Early in 2017, the course was scheduled during May 22-25, 2017. However, due to insufficient responses from the audience, this course will be postponed to a later date. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. If you have any suggestions on the possible dates and/or the contents of the course, please contact PREMIA.

PREMIA Best Student Paper Award 2016

PREMIA recognizes and rewards student members for their excellent research published in the past one year. PREMIA Best Student Paper Award awards those student members who are the main authors of publications in top journals or conferences. This award is issued every year and PREMIA has issued it since 2004. PREMIA Best Student Paper Award 2016 has five shortlisted papers.  Finally one Gold Award, one Silver Award and two Honourable Mention Awards were issued to the winners on 16 Feb 2017. PREMIA Short Course 2017 Summer
