The Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence Association (PREMIA) is a professional non-profit society registered in Singapore.  It was formed in 2004 with related professors, lecturers, researchers, engineers and students from academy, research institutes and industry communities residing in Singapore.

 

The aim of the society is to provide a forum for research in pattern recognition and machine intelligence in applied domains including computer vision, image processing, speech analysis, robotics, multimedia, document analysis, character recognition, knowledge engineering, fractal analysis and intelligent control, involving methods including statistical techniques, neural networks, evolutionary programming, fuzzy logic, machine learning and hardware implementation, and so on.

 

The society will organize seminars, courses, conferences to disseminate relevant knowledge and information to the community. It is a platform for members to exchange ideas and networking.

 

The governing body of the society is the Board Committee. The Board is elected every two years.

 

PREMIA recognizes high-quality researches and has been issuing Best Student Paper Awards each year since 2004. PREMIA has been providing Student Travel Grant Awards to student members to attend the International Conference on Pattern Recognition every year.

 

PREMIA is affiliated to the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR). PREMIA members are encouraged to participate in IAPR activities.
