The 17th PREMIA Annual General Meeting

We wish to notify that the 17th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence Association (PREMIA) will be held on Thursday, 30 July 2020 at 7:45pm and will be conducted as a fully virtual AGM at a Zoom meeting room. To join the zoom meeting, you are required to be a PREMIA member by joining PREMIA or renewing your membership by 15 July 2020 and sign up a zoom account if you do not have any zoom account. Administrative Details of PREMIA 17th AGM

As a precautionary measure in view of the COVID-19 outbreak, the 17th AGM will be conducted on a virtual basis through zoom meeting. This year is our PREMIA’s election year. We will elect a new president and seven board members. The voting will be conducted via Zoom’s Poll. All PREMIA full members are welcome to vote for the new Board.

Membership Renewal

PREMIA membership year is from 1 Aug of the current year to 31 July of the next year. Please refer to the URL for membership fee. Payment of the membership fee is non-refundable.  

  1. New registration for Full membership, an one-time administration fee of Singapore Dollars $20.00 AND one year annual membership fee  Singapore Dollars $30.00.
  2. New registration for Student membership, an one-time administration fee of Singapore Dollars $15.00 AND one year annual membership fee  Singapore Dollars $15.00.
  3. Full membership renewal: annual membership fee Singapore Dollars $30.00.
  4. Student membership renewal:  annual membership fee  Singapore Dollars $15.00.

Nomination of President and other Board Members

According to PREMIA’s constitution (http://www.premiasg.org/about/constitution/), the PREMIA Board include a President, a Vice President, a Treasurer, a Secretary and four other members. All PREMIA full members are qualified to be nominated as board members. PREMIA President, Treasurer and Secretary must be  Singapore citizens or Singapore permanent residents (PR). Unelected nominees in President voting are still allowed to take part board members’ election. Each nomination is required to be seconded by another full member. Self-nomination is allowed. A nominee is also allowed to be seconded by himself or herself if it is not a self-nomination. All nominees must accept the nominations and attend our virtual AGM.

 

If you are interested to nominate any full members as President or board members, you may send a PowerPoint slide (one slide only) with introduction of the nominee to Dr. Xiong Wei (wxiong@i2r.a-star.edu.sg). Each member is allowed to submit one President nomination and up to other eight nominations for Board Members. Please indicate the name and email of the full member who is seconded your nomination. The deadline of nomination is 15 July 2020.
